The veracity of the statement, "actions speak louder than words," hasn't stopped some people from thinking that talking a good game is a proper substitute for follow-through. There are plenty of occasions when people speak with great eloquence but perform very poorly. Words are authenticated by the actions that follow them. This is not a new issue. The early Christians dealt with it. Apparently, some of them failed to grasp that the Christian Faith is more than singing hymns, praying prayers, hearing (or speaking) sermons, or sitting in classrooms. Otherwise, why would the great Apostle Paul have penned these words: "Let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ." In other words, our conduct, our actions, our tone of voice, our everyday life should be worthy of Christ. Today's message will examine different manifestations of “the sin of talking a good game" and how to transition from creeds to deeds.
