Jesus started his ministry by calling people to repent and believe in the good news of God’s coming kingdom. We may not like the word repentance. It sounds awfully churchy and out of date. But it is an essential word for Christians. Our ongoing call to repentance keeps us humble and looking to God to reveal our future. This is important because God has much loftier plans than we do for our lives and world.
