January Events

Evangelism Days

As last year, Our Evangelism ministry has chosen two Sundays in the season of Epiphany, January 14th and 21st, to be Evangelism Sundays.   We are setting aside these Sundays as a special reminder that, together, as one body of Christ, we are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all the world.   Invite a friend to worship!

Evangelism Potluck Lunch

On January 21st, join your church family for a potluck lunch following 11:00 a.m. worship. We invite you to attend and make new friends in Christ by greeting new members, visitors, and longer term members of Calvary.  Bring your favorite dish to share.

Movers & Shakers Pizza Lunch

The Movers & Shakers will hold a Pizza Lunch and Planning meeting for 2018 on January 29 at 11:30 a.m. in the Calvary Fellowship Hall. Please contact Anne Hough if you plan to attend.

Blood Drive

Donate Blood at Calvary on Sunday, January 28 from 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  The sponsoring agency is Community Blood Center of the Carolinas.  Every drop stays here. Saving local lives.  Lunch will be provided and all presenting donors will receive a free t-shirt.  You may sign up on the bulletin board at church.

We are in CRITICAL need which means we have LESS than a 3 day supply of blood.  Unfortunately, snow is heading to our service area and that will hurt collections again!! Please share this information with any and all potential donors!

Acolyte & Crucifer Training

On Sunday, January 28, in the sanctuary, the Altar Guild will offer acolyte and crucifer training. This will be for all children third grade or older. We will start at 10:00 and be finished around 10:45. Parents are invited to attend and assist their children with selecting times to serve. We would appreciate picking a month or at least two weeks in a row. Please contact Kathy Schiele 704-786-7440 with any questions. Thank you.

February Events

New Member's Class

Have you been worshipping at Calvary for a while and feel led to make Calvary your church home? Join Pastor Debbie on Saturday, February 3rd, from 9am to noon in the church parlor for a time of reflection and conversation about church membership. We will start with a light breakfast and time for meeting others who are new to Calvary. We will leave plenty of time to explore ministries where you have an interest and take a tour of the church building and grounds. The class will end with a new member reception in worship on Sunday, February 4th for those who wish to join Calvary’s community of faith. Please be in touch with Pastor Debbie if you would like to attend or to learn more. dfrye@clconcord.org or 704-782-6923. Childcare will be provided upon request.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Our Social ministry committee at Calvary has planned for several service days during 2018 similar to what we did last September with God's Work Our Hands day. The first for 2018 will be on February 24th.  We will have the opportunity to travel to the Second Harvest distribution site in Charlotte and be a part of the incredible work that they do in feeding the hungry in our area.  This is a great way to build compassionate relationships through Christ with our neighbors who are hungry. Click Here to sign up.  If you have questions, please contact Mickey Norris.

Valentine's Dinner

Spread the word! Invite your friends and

family to join in the fun. Friday night,
