Everyone is welcome to join one of our next discipleship small groups that start on Wednesday March 20th at 10:30am in the church parlor or Sunday, March 24th at 5pm in the parlor. The theme for this 9 week journey is Called To Follow.  Please contact Pastor Debbie if you are interested so that materials can be ordered. dfrye@clconcord.og

Why join such a group?  Here are the responses of some people who have already participated.  The joy of a small group is-

· Getting to know our brothers and sisters in Christ more deeply

· Sharing God’s gift of grace

· Learning

· The Strength of community

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The Stations of the Cross recreates Christ’s walk to Calvary allowing the faithful to make a “pilgrimage to Jerusalem” and to be drawn closer to Christ who walked there. The Stations are intended to be a devotion that is prayed and walked by one or more from the Churches to be an example of our faith and Christ’s life given for us. There will be a Stations of the Cross walk through the Logan Community Concord on Friday April 19 beginning at 3:30.

This year we will start at  Grace Lutheran Church (corner of Tournament and Chestnut), then proceed down Tournament to Lincoln.  We will conclude the walk at Calvary Holy Church  ( 401 Lincoln St. SW)

They are looking for volunteers to read from the Stations of the Cross readings. If you are interested, contact the church office. Everyone is invited to participate. The walk should take about 75 minutes.

Love. Grow. Serve

After washing his disciples’ feet, Jesus told them that he had given them an example to follow. They were to love one another as he had loved them. By this, he said, everyone will know that you are my disciples. (John 13:12 and following)

During the Lenten season this year (March 6th-April 25th), we will build off of these words of Jesus and reflect on our Christian service as a congregation.

Our theme of Love, Grow, Serve will be highlighted in:

  • Wednesday Evening Worship Services
  •  A Congregational Project for Winecoff School teachers
  • A Prayer Wall where we will share the names of service groups in our community to pray for.
