The Body of Christ: Christ-Shaped and Spirit Sent
discipleship group to start on April 8th at 6pm.
A small group to intentionally develop followers of Christ will meet for 7 weeks and explore the theme: “The Body of Christ”. Pastor Debbie will lead the group on Sunday evenings at 6:00pm in her office.
This is a study about what it means to be the church today. The New Testament uses several images to describe the nature of the emerging community of faith as it is becoming distinct from Judaism in its commitment to follow and worship the risen Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God. This book centers on the church as the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12). Jesus Christ, the head of the church, through the Spirit brings unity to members of the body and gives each a spiritual gift so that all participate in a shared ministry. The Spirit shapes the community into the image of Christ and sends it into the world to participate in God’s mission.
If you would like to be a part of this small group, please speak to Pastor Debbie.
