Calvary's social ministry committee is always looking for ways to help our Calvary family put God's love into action in our community in tangible ways.
As part of Calvary Lutheran’s Winecoff Elementary School support initiatives, the Social Ministry (Community Outreach) Committee and Winecoff staff want to expand our efforts with additional mentor volunteers. Participating as a mentor requires a limited and very flexible investment of time; volunteers can spend 30-45 minutes with students on a weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly basis. Mentors can volunteer to be a lunch buddy, classroom companion for reading or math, or a combination. Your participation can provide the students with positive in- fluences or relationships which for some may otherwise be quite limited.
Please contact the church office if you are interested in learning more about this program.
Also, speak with volunteers Gaylene Butch, Pastor Debbie, Harold Smith, Kathi Hissong, or Gary Norris to learn more about their volunteer experiences.
Thanks to everyone who delivers backpacks to Winecoff throughout the year, and everyone who brought in school supplies in the past for the school.
The school has expressed their gratitude for our efforts.
