Care & Concern ministry at Calvary

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

The purpose of Calvary’s Care and Concern Ministry is to offer confidential acts of encouragement and support to members of our congregational family when they face illness, loss, and everyday transitions that often challenge our faith. 

Because Christ responds to our needs with love and compassion, we, in turn, offer our care and concern to each other.

Care and Concern Ministry volunteers can serve in one or more of the following ways:

• Fixing and delivering hot or frozen meals.
• Sending cards, making calls, and visits to members. 
• Transporting members to doctors’ visits, stores, and/or church.
• Picking up items such as medications or groceries.
•  Delivering small vases of donated altar flowers to our homebound
• Sending cards and gift packages to our college students

In 2020,  20 volunteers offered support to 163 members of our congregation.  These volunteers sent 767 cards, made 142 calls and 19 visits, delivered 40 meals, provided transportation 26 times and pick-up groceries or medications 7 times.
